Where It All Began
Hector and Leopold met 25 years ago as young apprentices in a small hatter's workshop. They argued over everything, from the curve of a peak to the weight of a tweed, and somewhere between those arguments a lifelong friendship began.
A Shop of Their Own
Three years later they opened their own door: one window, a handful of wooden blocks and their two names above the entrance. The first caps were cut by hand, with an adjustable band so one size could genuinely fit most heads.
More Shapes, Same Hands
Driver, newsboy and eight-panel styles joined the line. The workshop grew, but every pattern still passed through the same two pairs of hands that cut the very first one, and every cap was checked before it left.
Our Final Run at This Price
A quarter of a century later, our finishers are making their last batch for us at today's cost, and we priced it to move rather than to sit. When a colour sells out, it will not come back at this price. This is our thank-you to everyone who has worn a Hector and Leopold cap.

Will the cap fit me?
Most of our caps have a discreet adjustable band that fits head sizes from about 54 to 60 cm. If it still does not feel right, our 30-day fit guarantee lets you return or exchange it.
What are the caps made of?
Cotton twill, washed denim and wool blends, chosen to hold their shape, their colour and their comfort through years of wear.
How long will my cap last?
Looked after properly, for years. Good cloth softens and takes on your shape the more you wear it.
How should I clean it?
Spot-clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let it air-dry. Keep it out of the washing machine, which can distort the crown.
Are your caps mass-produced?
No. Each run is made in small batches by the same finishers, so every cap gets a proper look before it leaves.
Is it comfortable for a full day?
Yes. The cloths breathe and the band adjusts, so the cap sits light all day without pressing or feeling stiff.
